PIX begins to be implemented in the payment Darfs for Government

 Companies that declare debts and tax credits can settle their accounts with the Tax Authorities through Pix , the Central Bank's new instant payment system . In partnership with Banco do Brasil, the IRS is adapting the collection of taxes to the new technology, launched last month and which executes transfers in up to ten seconds.

The new model of the Federal Revenue Collection Document (Darf), the main collection document of the federal government, will now have a QR code (advanced version of the bar code) that will allow payment via Pix. The taxpayer will only need to open the bank's application, activate Pix and point the phone at the code, which will be read by the phone's camera.


For now, the novelty is only available to companies required to submit the Declaration of Federal Tax Debits and Credits, Social Security and Other Entities and Funds (DCTFWeb). The Revenue, however, will extend Pix to other types of employers.


Still this month, the Treasury informed, Pix's QR code will be incorporated into the eSocial Collection Document, used by domestic employers and which records 1 million payments per month. In the beginning of January, the novelty will be extended to the Simple National Collection Document, used by 9 million micro companies, small companies and individual micro entrepreneurs.


The Federal Revenue informed that, throughout 2021, all collection documents under its management will have the QR code of Pix. According to the agency, about 320 million payments per year are made through documents issued by the tax authorities.

In November, the National Treasury launched PagTesouro , a digital payment platform integrated with Pix. The tool dispenses with the issuance of the Union Collection Guide (GRU) and allows instant transfers to the single Treasury account by Pix, in addition to payment by credit card.
